    The Bible IS absolute truth! Everything is secondary to what the Bible says.
  2. To be growing spiritually (Colossians 2:6-7)
    God loves you just the way you are, but He doesn’t want you to stay that way. He wants you to grow.
  3. To express genuine worship to God (John 4:21-24)
    We must worship Him in both spirit and truth. It must be a balance. Far too many churches are too far one or the other.
  4. To be burdened for the lost (Matthew 9:36)
    The closer we are to Jesus the more we will see people the way He sees people. (Hint: like sheep without a shepherd).
  5. To serve others (Galatians 5:13)
    One of the hardest things for many people to figure out is how to look beyond themselves and their own desires and toward others and their needs.
  6. To love and encourage others (Hebrews 10:24-25)
    Two of the primary reasons for coming to church are to motivate one another to acts of love and to encourage one another.
  7. To be committed to unity and peace (Ephesians 4:2-3)
    Reasons for disunity and lack of peace … not humble, not gentle, not patient, not making allowance for each other’s faults. Our enemy seeks to divide and conquer.
  8. To make family a priority (Joshua 24:15)
    There is never enough time in the day to meet every responsibility. At the end of the day we must all choose who or what we are going to cheat. Choose NOT to cheat your family.
  9. To be committed to excellence (Malachi 1:7-8)
    Excellence honors God and inspires people. Enough said.
  10. To recognize the importance of reputation (Proverbs 22:1)
    What is your church known for in the community? If you church ceased to exist who would notice it and who would miss it?
